You just came back and this is what we got?

Things are about to get serious, Lock.

Lockyn responds:

AHHHHHHHHH

If there was a list of people I hoped did not see this, it would include you. Good freaking going, self, now Xtrullor thinks you're mentally challenged. ^^

I hope they get serious. Because... because... then I would totally lose.

EDIT: who the hell voted this anything more than a zero I demand to know

Alright, I have to admit it sounds epic and nice.

But...

I can't say much of the same about your mixing though, but for the sake of making my writing easier, I'll start breaking down some of my reactionary reviews on some certain parts to make you understand my way of thinking.

Alright, *cracks knuckles resulting in miserable pain*, let's do this.

Alright, it starts out great. Good potential, but that's what it's usually always about in Newgrounds, eh?

0:07
Oh fuck.
Gah... ahem... sorry.
So yeah, I see you discovered what limiters can do. Quite harsh limiting can sound pretty kewl after a while when your ears are adjusted to it (which happens for the composers who don't take enough breaks), which is a shame for the listeners who hear it the first time though. Can you hear how it eats up the clap almost completely at some certain points? It's a great idea to have those in there, but this goddamn limiter ate them all. Sadface.
Oh, but the stuff that's going on now is pretty cool, though.

New elements come to play. Shame that most of them are still pushed back by the limiter.
Let's carry on now.

Wow great! Wait a minute, where's the beat? Hey, I want this to sound awesome, did the beat section suddenly fall asleep or something? Are they late?

0:53
Ah, there you go. *shivers of satisfaction* So they were late after all. At least in my schedule.
This sounds cool, man. It would sound awesome with some bass in there, too. So far I like what's going on, and I'd like you to keep it up from here. After re-listening to the whole thing again, there is some repetition to be heard but variations of different elements keeps it interesting. Include something new in there after this, and you'll do good in my book.

Summary:
- Good ideas, but make them do something more than the same chord progression for the rest of the track
- Mixing is pretty horrendous, but I don't hate it. Ease down with that limiter, bring in some clarity instead! AND BRING IN THE LOWER END BASSES.
- It's good, but not too good. However, large potential here, just improve on your mixing and everything sounds AWESOME.

Norato responds:

0:38 point made me kinda laught :D It´s inspired by Porter robinson - Languages drop style. I REALLY like it tho :D

But to the BEAT... The kick was quiet turned down and I allready turned up high-freq and vol a bit.
Mastering is not that good couse I have shitty headphones and dont even hear 0-120Hz man... so it´s hard to master it well :-/

I like this minimalistic style you've got in this, I've never heard anyone trying to make dubstep sound so compact, but listenable at the same time. It feels very balanced out, but seems to lack the meat that fills the whole thing, making it sound more powerful. That's what I usually like to check out when listening tracks like this.

Anyway, apart from that, I must say that even though it's technically pretty good, it still sounds awfully generic at best. It feels like I've gone through this already at a some point, and this isn't offering much on top of that.

I demand more uniqueness. But it's just me.

I would say I'm fairly impressed by the synths you've rounded up here, but disappointed by the lack of creative use and the actual variety of them. Honestly, I don't even think this track sounds very original or distinctive from the other similar sounding stuff I've been listening.
My point is: I've head this already. Give me something new and interesting for a while. Something that's actually YOU, not something what people seem to listen already. You do not need to imitate so much, so just try to find something new that people like and what comes off from you totally. This sounds extremely generic, and I'm sorry for saying that. I just don't think this track was too interesting that much at all.

So anyway: The mixing was... alright. But you'll definitely get better at it as you go on. It's very rough and dwells in the middle frequencies quite a bit. But it's loud, which may make it a easy-to-go for many listeners out there. However, this doesn't mean the mixing can't be improved from what you've already got. If you want to get louder, you also need to sacrifice quality, and I don't like that personally. Not that many people likes it to my record, either.

You used about seven different synths in this track overall, I think. That's what I counted at least.
I would say that it's a start, but the odd use of arrangement of them just makes them feel... cheap. I stopped hearing new stuff after a minute mark or so, and this track is three times longer than that, you know. It made me push myself not to skim over the whole track, because this wasn't just something that I would consider worthwhile to sit through so much. I would seriously advice you to take a look at this, because this is one of the most noticeable problem I know at newgrounds. Make things vary, but do not make it stupid. Make your tracks worthwhile, do not just apply length because there's a some kind of standard for them. Tracks CAN be as long as only a minute and still get good feedback to!

And uh... did you actually create these synths by yourself? They just sounded a bit too advanced and popular to be selfmade from scratch. Not that it matters, but I would seriously consider to learn your Massive you're obviously using, and create your own content. I learned this after figuring out the track, and it's been a lot better since. It doesn't take too long to learn anything like that at all, you just have to DO stuff. That's all.

So let's break it down:

Presentation: 7/10
Creativity: 4/10
Mixing: 6/10
Overall tune: 6/10

Just keep going at it, and do what YOU would want to do. Not what others have done already. How do you think xKore or even Skrillex got famous and all?

Just my two cents.

EnterPrize responds:

Thank you so much. Maybe try my new song that I made almost every sound in.

Got to say, this one was quite surprising for a while. I've been listening to your stuff for a while, and this was something a bit fascinating over your other stuff. It sounds good, has a good mastering and the self-dependent "simple-but-complicated" style you seem to own rather nicely.

You seem to like making that raw, piercing basslead quite often, by the way. It's a nice one, but you could try something a bit different in an instance. It could bring some interesting consequences into the track's overall feel of it, I'd say.

I liked it, try to keep the stuff up and going.

Composition, good. Mastering, eh... could be better. The high ends of the frequences are quite harsh for my ears, and they should be toned down a bit. Other than that, it sounds kind of sweet.

I really don't have anything else to say, really. Should I apologize or something?

Cmdtrigun responds:

Cool! Mastering isn't my strong suit but you've given me something to work on so I can try to fix those high freqs. Thanks for the constructive review!

I do like it, actually. Even though the mastering is a bit off, I think it fits in there in a some way.

I like your composition style, keep it up!

- Xtrullor

As it is still quite good where it is, I thought it needed a little buff for the whole thing.
So what I did, I buffed it up a bit:

Good work, keep the stuff coming!
